Case Study: UPS – Connection around the world

In 2015, UPS Corporate Communications partnered with Base22 to deliver a major redesign of the user experience for their global employee portal, UPSers.com. The design is modern and responsive giving employees the opportunity to easily access their content and services anywhere, anytime, and from any device. UPS content authors can create and target content using a wide range of user attributes including geographical region, job function and level, and language.

The result is a highly personalized experience for employees that includes corporate, regional and local information. UPSers.com also provides a seamless gateway to several backend business applications. With more than 200 content authors located around the world, the UPS team asked Base22 to develop an integration solution to their third-party translation vendor. UPS delivers content in 17 languages and needed a workflow process that would permit them to seamlessly route draft content to the translation provider. Once the content is translated, it is routed back to UPS for final approval and publication. Base22 has been serving the needs of UPS Corporate Communications for more than ten years and the evolution of UPSers.com will continue. The future roadmap contains plans for many exciting enhancements including support for even more granular targeting of content and an increased integration of social tools to foster more and better employee engagement.
